Donna Rindress PhD
President & Managing Director
Trained at McGill University, Donna's research was in the field of cellular endocrinology and signal transduction with a focus on diabetes. She pursued this work with Merck at their Center for Therapeutic Research in Montreal. Subsequent experience in the pharmaceutical and contract research industries in clinical research and the emerging field (in the early 1990's) of health economics led her to recognize a clear need for rigorous, transparent and effective research application in the healthcare industry. Donna established ISIS, the International Scientific and Information Service, at Benefit-Quintiles to build such rigor, quality, and scientific perspective into the company's health economic products. BioMedCom™ was founded with the same objectives, to serve all stakeholders in the healthcare community. Since its inception in 1996, BioMedCom™ has become a recognized leader in the application of health outcomes and health economics to healthcare decisionmaking, promoting evidence-based rationales for adoption of new healthcare technologies and pioneering the concept of Global Economic Dossiers. Donna’s role at BioMedCom™ is strategic and supportive, developing business, customer relations, project planning and quality oversight. Donna has been a member of ISPOR (the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research) since its inception, and was closely involved in its growth and success. She helped establish the peer-reviewed, NLM-listed journal, Value in Health, and served as its Managing Editor for several years. She is also a member of several other organizations that focus on health technology assessment and medical decisionmaking.
